Well, I think I am officially in the "doldrums". You know that space where all you are doing is sitting around waiting for something to happen. Sitting around, as most of you know, is not my style, but every time I try to push or accelerate the time table, I end up regretting it.
So, I am learning patience. This is the five week anniversary of my fall which means I am almost halfway to being healed...at least according to the doctors. I have been feeling pretty good from a pain perspective which just tells me that everything is healing. I have been going in the pool every day and doing some doctor approved motion exercises. It helps that the weather has been near 100 every day this week. It might be a different story next week when the temperatures are supposed to dip into the upper 70's.
Guess I will just have to hit the pool in the late afternoon when it is the warmest. Either that or I will get in, do the exercises and get out. The water temperature will probably not be conducive to lingering in the water like I have been doing this week.
I also have a new goal...my 40th high school reunion is scheduled for the second weekend in November and I hope to be able to attend. It is within an hours drive of my house and my attendance will probably depend on what the doctor says when I see him on the 15th. But if I am good then, and can do some physical therapy starting on the 16th, who knows...the reunion just might be a possibility.
In any case it is good to have a goal and even better to have something to look forward to...right?
